Over 11 years of experience preparing students from all over the world for the IELTS test. All of my students went on to not only receive the Band score they were aiming for, but the majority of them achieved higher. I have taught IELTS in Ireland, Czech Republic, Malta, Ukraine, England, and now in Canada, both in-person and online.

I’m Jacobo, from San Andres, Colombia. I spent 4 months on AJ’s IELTS class at the beginning of the year, and it was a completely fulfilling experience. When I started in AJ’s class, I was really struggling with my speaking, especially with my confidence, and during my time in the class I got to enhance my confidence as well as my reading, listening, and academic writing skills. I took my IELTS Test on April and I ended up having 6.5 in Writing, 9 in Reading, 8.5 in Listening, and 7.5 in Speaking, which is a much higher score that I needed for University. :)

I'm from Salto, Brazil AJ is a really patient, fun and effective teacher! I had to take an IELTS test for my PR application, however, I needed to improve my reading score of 6.0. During our lessons he explained the best way to resolve each exercise, also how to find the answers faster and effectively. We did a lot of lessons in a short period, just 2 and a half weeks to prepare for the test. His advice, tips and collaboration improved my score to 8.5!!! As a result, I had enough points to submit a PR application. I cannot recommend him enough!

I’m from Barranquilla, Colombia. I decided to start my IELTS preparation with AJ a few months ago. The reason why I went to Vancouver was to take the IELTS in order to apply for a master's degree. The score that I needed was a 7.5. I was so scared but it only took me 2 months in AJ’s class to be ready for the test and I got an amazing band 8 overall. I remember struggling with the reading at the beginning. I couldn’t get more than a 6 or 6.5 and I had trouble managing my time but after following AJ’s tips and keep practicing I got a band 9 in reading in the real test. I know, it’s crazy! He was paying close attention to all my progress and also helped me with my confidence which was fundamental in the speaking part of the test. AJ is a truly IELTS expert and I will forever be grateful for his help.
